MESSAGE: There is A Way

One day I was walking to my classroom and I started a conversation with a fellow
staff member concerning 6000 years that man has been on earth, as described in the
Bible.  He made it clear that he did not subscribe to the Bible.  He sees himself as a
person prescribing to the faith of Deism – a belief that if there is a God, He does not
do miracles, there’s no spirits, or any other signs of the supernatural.  This is nothing
new.  In the days of Jesus, these were called Sadducees.  He seems comfortable in his
stand (or belief).

This scripture came to my mind as I was talking to him: For the preaching of the
cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power
of God (1 Cor. 1:18).

----------------
Another man told me that he feel confident that he will end up in heaven since he is
not a bad person.  He further explained that while he knows that he is not perfect, but
he tries to always do the right things and live a righteous life.  For a loving God would
never send such a person to an eternal hell.

There are a lot of problems with this logic.  The Bible is clear that, “For all have
sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” “There is none righteous, no not one.”
Isaiah 64:14 states that our righteousness are as filthy rags.  God cannot skip sin.  Yes
God does love everybody. But over and over, God has made it clear, that many will
be cast into the lake of fire.  If the love of God kept people from going to hell, then
everybody would be in heaven since God loves everybody.  So, the love of God will
not keep a person from going to hell.

-----------------
A Catholic told me that since he was baptized and practices the catholic faith.
Therefore he will end up in heaven.

This person is trusting in works, not faith.  Again, the Bible is clear that we cannot
earn our way into heaven through being baptized, being a good person, or doing many
good works.  There is only one mediator between God and man, and that is Jesus.
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but
by me.”

-----------------
One person told me that since he attends church regularly that he is confident that he
will end up in heaven

Joyce Meyers said, “Going to church makes you a Christian like sitting in a garage
makes you a car.”  That is Church does not make you a Christian, so what does?

---------------------
All these people use what I call, “a coping mechanism” to dodge or dull the reality of
an eternity of hell.  It is like the person who deals with death by simply ignoring that
it will happen any time soon. So why think about it?

There is a way which seemeth right unto man, but the end thereof are the ways to
death. (Pr. 14:12)

Which way seems right to you?  I hope you choose Life with Jesus over Death with
the Devil.

So my friend,  what seems right to you?  Do you trust into your own understanding,
works, church?  I hope not for these all will fail you in your ultimate time of need.
When you stand before God and try to use your beliefs as any argument to justify
why He should let you into heaven,  Jesus will say, “I never knew you; depart from
me”   Mat. 7:23.

Please don’t let this happen to you.  Do you want to be one of those where Jesus
says, “Enter into the Joy of the Lord”?  It’s not hard, just go down the Romans Road
and ask Jesus to come into your heart.  You will never be the same. Amen.
