CP-642B
30-Bit SINS Computer

The original SINS computer (Univac CP 642B) is shown
above. This was a 30-bit computer, operating at 100Khz (in
today's terms 0.1MHz), with 32K (30-bit) memory locations
(approx 123K Bytes) of magnetic core memory. The 642B
weight is 2,300 lbs, consumes 3500 watts of power, chilled
water cooled, and cost $400,000 in 1961.
The CP 642B computer was a 2nd generation 9500
transistor computer made by Univac and Sperry Rand in
